Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange consists of three separate programs paid for by the United States Congress and the German Bundestag. They are a high school exchange program, a young professional (internship) exchange program, and vocational internship program for graduation seniors.
The high school exchange program offers a scholarship for American students to study abroad in Germany for a year. The young professional exchange includes a a full year scholarship (and living stipend) two month welcome seminar, a semester at a German university and a five month German speaking internship. The vocational internship consists of a year in Germany living with a host family, participating a school or training program, and getting hands-on internship work experience at a German company.
The program is for motivated students and young people who want to live with a host family and want to immerse themselves in the German lifestyle and culture. Participants gain a critical set of intercultural skills as well as experience what the work and school environment in Germany is like. This program is for adept and open minded young people interested in Germany.
